On 01/03/2015 at approximately 12:10 P.M. Middleton Police and Fire and Rescue were dispatched to the Moose Mountain Reservation located off New Portsmouth Road in Middleton for an injured hiker.
Upon arrival rescue workers located a 50 year old Middleton woman on the ground believed to be suffering from a broken ankle. The Middleton resident was accompanied by her husband. Two additional hikers stopped and assisted police and rescue workers in locating the injured female.
The hiker was carried a short distance to the awaiting ambulance and transported by Middleton Ambulance to Frisbie Memorial Hospital in Rochester.
The name of the hiker is not being released as she requested that it not be made public to protect her medical privacy.
