On 06/24/2014 the Middleton Police received a report of an indecent exposure case in the Hampshire Shores area (Pinkham Road)
The caller reported seeing a young male performing a sex act while watching the caller and two young children in the water.
By the nature of the report, this case was placed in a priority status and every full time member of the police department was assigned some aspect of this investigation.
The police spent a great amount time conducting interviews in the neighborhood, increasing patrols etc.
During the early evening hours of Friday 06/27/2014 the police department developed evidence which led to the identify of the person involved.
The person involved is a 16 year old full time resident of Middleton. Because of the suspect's age, we are not allowed by law to release his identity or any information regarding court records.
With that said, rest assured that the Middleton Police Department takes these types of offenses seriously and will use the full powers allowed to them under law to protect the community.
We are now in the process of looking at similar reports taken in the past and posted here to see if they are related.
Without the public's help this crime would not have been solved. We appreciate that information that was provided to us and encourage you to do so in the future to help keep our community safe.
