Multi-Agency-Multi State Hunt results in Arrest

On 04/25/2014 at approximately 3:15 P.M. members of the Strafford County Sheriff's Office and the New Hampshire Department of Probation and Parole attempted to serve an arrest warrant on:

Michael Hopkins (Age 30)
15 Silver Street
Farmington, N.H.

While at the residence, Officers noticed that Hopkins drove by.  These officers observed Hopkins but did not engage in a police pursuit.  They notified Middleton Police and surrounding areas to be on the look out for him.  Hopkins was last seen in the area of Ridge Road in Middleton.

A short time after the radio broadcast, a Trooper assigned to New Hampshire State Police Troop E observed the vehicle and engaged in a short pursuit from Wakefield, N.H. to Route 125 in Milton.  The Trooper discontinued the pursuit out of concern for public safety.

The Trooper observed the vehicle enter into the State of Maine at which point the York County Sheriff's Office was notified and searched the area in conjunction with the Milton, New Hampshire Police.

At approximately 6:15 P.M. the Farmington Police Department observed a Green Ford Focus in the driveway of 15 Silver Street and confirmed that it was the same vehicle operated by Hopkins earlier in the area.

Middleton and Farmington Police officers located Hopkins at the residence and arrested him without incident.  He was transported to the Strafford County Jail where he is being held on a Probation/Parole Violation and a Criminal Arrest Warrant issued out of the Strafford County Superior Court for a failure to appear on 04/03/2014 for a Habitual Offender Charge.

Hopkins is being held at the Strafford County Jail on no bail and will be arraigned in the Superior Court at a later date and time.
