On 08/05/2013 at approximately 5:46 p.m. Members of the Middleton Police responded to the area of Governor's road for a reported missing 39 year old female. Friends and relatives of the female reported that she may have been depressed. This female was last seen at 8:00 a.m.
The initial responding officer immediately began an investigation obtaining descriptive information and photographs of the missing woman. Friends of the woman as well as known residences where she has stayed was checked to no avail.
At 7:02 P.M. a command post was set up on Governor's Road in Middleton. Members of the Middleton Fire and Rescue responded with their command vehicle and Rescue Unit to provide lighting. Because of the time period between when the woman was last seen and the time the police were notified, a bloodhound unit was requested from the New Hampshire State Police. Middleton Emergency Management responded with water to keep the responders hydrated.
Mutual Aid Units were requested from Farmington and Milton Police and were used to establish a perimeter around the wooded area surrounding the residence where she was last seen. New Durham Police assisted by covering other patrol calls.
The New Hampshire State Police SERT Team (Special Emergency Response Team) which specializes in Missing Persons cases among other duties was activated and members responded to assist. New Hampshire Fish and Game responded as well as the terrain around the residence consisted of a heavily wooded area.
At approximately 9:30 P.M. search parties, including the K-9 were deployed in the wooded area.
At 10:15, the Middleton Police issued an Alert to the public with a photograph requesting public information from anyone who had seen the missing female.
Approximately 15 minutes after, a member of the New Hampshire State Police noticed movement in the person's residence. She had returned home on her own accord and entered the residence through a rear door.
The female was transported to Frisbie Memorial Hospital in Rochester by Middleton Ambulance for non-life threatening injuries. Because of federal privacy laws, we are not releasing what those injuries were.
At 10:30 the Alert was cancelled and shortly thereafter, the command post was terminated.
At this point, no further information is being released on this matter.
