NWS predictions for all of New
Hampshire:
Temperature:
Temperatures
will be near freezing tonight. Highs tomorrow will be in the 20s North, low 30s
in areas around Merrimack and Cheshire Counties with some parts of the State
along the Southern border approaching 40.
Wind: Winds will
be light at around 10 mph with some gusts near the coast of 15-20 mph.
Snow: Most
precipitation will be in the form
of sleet. Some light snow in central NH with up to 2” in Northern Coos County is
expected.
Rain:
NWS reports that chances of any
significant rain is minimal. Rivers are generally forecast to stay within their
banks. However, some of the rivers with low flooding thresholds are forecast to
go above Action Stage, the alert level before flooding begins. These include
the Contoocook, Warner and Suncook Rivers.
Ice
Accretion: Little if any expected for this
event.
Sleet: 1/2" of
sleet is expected in the South by Friday morning. Sleet accumulations will be
1-1.5” total by the afternoon mainly on grassy areas.
Marine
Forecast: A Gale Watch is currently in
effect with some wind gusts of over 35 mph expected for marine areas. NWS
predicts no coastal flooding. Astronomical high tides will be 2.5’ below flood
stage.
Travel:
Travel may be impacted late tonight
through the Friday morning commute due to sleet on the roadways.
