Warrant Issued in Middleton Stand-Off

On 04-25-2013, at 9:56 a.m. members of the Middleton Police responded to the intersection of New Durham Road and Buttermilk Road for a suicidal male.  Upon arrival members of the Middleton Police Department encountered a 47 year old male armed with an un-holstered small caliber handgun.

Area Police Departments including:  Farmington, Milton, New Durham and Wakefield Police were dispatched to the area to assist in closing off the area.  State Police Patrol units and a State Police Negotiator were requested to respond as well.

Middleton Police negotiated with the male and after approximately 20 minutes, he was taken into custody without injury. 

The male was transported to Frisbie Memorial Hospital for an evaluation.

The investigation continued into the early evening hours.  During this investigation a search was conducted of 4 Buttermilk Lane in the Town of Middleton, N.H.  Several firearms and a small amount of marijuana were seized during this search.

As a result of this investigation, an arrest warrant has been issued charging:

4 Buttermilk Lane
Middleton, N.H.
 
with one count of Criminal Threatening for brandishing a firearm in a threatening manner while he was being approached by a uniformed member of the Middleton Police.  He is also charged with Possession of a Controlled Drug.  Criminal Threatening is a Class B Felony punishable by 3.5 to 7 years in the New Hampshire State Prison.  Possession of a Controlled Drug is a Misdemeanor punishable by up to one year in the House of Correction.
 
 
Mr. Kinsley remains hospitalized for an undisclosed medical issue.  The Police are aware of his location and the arrest warrant will be served upon his discharge from the Hospital.
