Middleton Armed Standoff Ends Peacefully

On 04-25-2013 members of the Middleton Police Department responded to Buttermilk Lane for a report of an armed suicidal male.

Two Middleton Police Units along with their K-9 Raven responded to the residence.  Upon arrival police located a 47 year old male armed with an un-holstered small caliber handgun.

The 47 year old male was not complying with the police requests to put the gun down.

New Hampshire State Police were also responding along with a request for a crisis negotiator.

Mutual Aid units were in the process of blocking off the neighborhood when the male suspect complied with the police requests and surrendered peacefully.

The male was transported by Middleton Police to Frisbie Memorial Hospital for a Mental Health Evaluation.

The investigation into the circumstances surrounding this call are still under investigation.  Because this call is being handled as a mental health issue, the suspect is not being publically identified.

Once police determine what if any charges will be filed, the identifying information will be released.

No further information is being released at this time.
