Middleton Woman arrested for assaulting Officer.

On 01-29-2013 at 7:20 p.m. members of the Middleton Police responded to 92 Deer Run Road in the Town of Middleton for a reported Domestic Disturbance. 

Upon the completion of an investigation, Officer Durrance of the Middleton Police attempted to arrest:

Middleton, N.H.
 
Brown resisted arrest, wrestling with the Officer and kicking him twice.  This required the officer to deploy OC spray.  The Defendant kept resisting requiring the officer to deploy his Taser.
 
 
A short time later, the Defendant was taken into custody.  The suspect was transported to Frisbie Memorial Hospital as is a matter of policy during a use of force incident.  She was then transported to the Rochester Police Department where bail was set at $5000.00 cash.  A detention order was placed on her by the New Hampshire Probation and Parole Department requiring the Jail to hold her for up to 72 hours.
 
The Officer received minor injuries however he has returned to full duty.
 
All three offenses are Class A Misdemeanors punishable by up to one year in Jail.  Simple assault on a police officer carries an enhanced penalty and may result in an additional year in jail for each offense.
 
Shawna Brown is scheduled to be arraigned at the 7th Circuit Court in Rochester on 01/30/2012 at 11:00 a.m.
